Run Away Little Girl

Sometimes, the boss gets stronger during the encounter. Sometimes, You Are the Bomb. Either way, it's time to flee for your miserable life. The character must move to a safe spot, or continuously move to avoid the boss or some other sort of negative effect.

This is the usual tactic to avoiding Eyebeams Pew Pew.

If the safe spot is some feature of the terrain, this becomes Hide Behind the Pillar.

Examples

  • Karazhan
    • The trope namer is the Big Bad Wolf encounter, where the Wolf will periodically turn someone into Little Red Riding Hood and give chase. The voice emote for this is so evocative that Deadly Boss Mods has taken to using it for other similar effects.
  • Trial of the Crusader
    • Jaraxxus' Legion Flames requires that the character keep moving (preferably out of the way of the other raiders) - if he doesn't, he stood in the fire.
  • Vault of Archavon
    • Emalon's Lightning Nova strikes everyone within 20 feet when it completes casting, requiring the melee to move away immediately.
