Exalted-CthulhuTech Crossover

Once upon a time, a race of beings arrived on a remote world from elsewhere. Humanity, along with that life it finds natural, was created by such beings - euphemistically called the "Dragon Kings" by later generations. And in time, that humanity was empowered by the gods of this world to fight against the oldest beings of the cosmos. They fought against the Primordials. And, in time, they won.... until the stars were right again.

The greatest of the gods' champions, the Solar Exalted, eventually went mad. Some called it a curse laid upon them by their Primordial foes. But perhaps it was simply exposure to what they fought, and to what they were becoming, that drove them to the heights of insanity. Regardless, their fellow champions struck them down and imprisoned their remains in the Jade Prison.

The Realm rose and fell; other civilizations followed suit. The Jade Prison remained undisturbed. Until finally, as the Deep Ones excavated for the home of their great god Cthulhu, the souls were set free...

Not all sought out human hosts in which to reincarnate. Some were drawn to inhuman or once-human hosts. "The soul of the devil-bought hastes not from the charnel clay, but fats and instructs the very worm that gnaws..."

The Solars have awakened to a world in which the Migou have invaded Earth, and humanity fights a desperate resistance from its remaining high-tech cities. Its Engels and mecha, its energy weapons and para-psychics: all tools of arcanotechnology, turned to the defense of mankind. So, too, might these mad Solar souls be tamed for use by heroes long enough to save some portion of the race from destruction or madness.

• An Exalted campaign set in the CthulhuTech setting.
• The dynamic from Exalted remains the same, with Solars being cast as "rogue sorcerers" or "Zoners" or similar dangers and hunted by the FSB, the GIA and so on rather than the Realm.
• Shapeshifting souls that bond with, or eat, human supplicants, called Tagers, can be found. Once they were known as the Lunar Exalted.
• Sidereal Exalted continue to exist, with a similar for-and-against dynamic.
• Abyssal Exalted command the ghouls and other unsavory beings of the underworld.
• The Infernal Exalted serve the Old Ones and their servants such as Nyarlathotep, and command  the Rapine Storm or other cults.
